Creating a new deal

You can create a deal and onboard your portfolio to the Built platform. You can add a property, funding source, and stakeholder details along with the deal details. To configure a user to create a deal, see Managing user roles.

Note: The Configure Forms feature in Built allows you to customize deal, property, and funding source forms to meet your organization's requirements. You can add or remove fields. For more information, see Configuring deal forms.

  • Ensure that full access permission is provided to:

    • Deal Management:

      • Portfolio Page & Deal Creation

      • Deal Details

      • Deal Overview

      • Update Deal Status

    • Deal Stakeholder Management

    • Draw Schedules

    • Capital Stack Management

  • A deal workflow is created.

  • A draw workflow is created.

  • A group is created.

  • All Internal Deal Stakeholders are added as Users in Admin UI. • All field configurations are set.

To create a new deal, perform the following steps.

1. At the top-left of the page, click Portfolio.

  1. On the Portfolio page, at the top-right, click + New Deal.

  1. In the New Deal dialog box, enter the following information.

The New Deal dialog box includes the following sections: Deal Details, Property, and Funding Sources. You can quickly navigate to these sections using the tabs on the right of the dialog box.

Deal Details


Feature

Description

Deal Name

A deal name.

Deal Risk Rating

The status of deal risk, such as Pass, Loss, or as configured within Field Configurations.

Deal Type

The deal type is Permanent, Bridge, Construction, or as configured within Field Configurations.

Deal ID

The ID of the deal.

Deal Purpose

The purpose of the deal is Purchase, New Construction, Bridge, or as configured within the Field Configurations.

Deal Workflow

The assigned deal workflow governs the deal’s lifecycle.

This field is mandatory.

Draw Workflow

The default draw workflow governs the standard draw cycle on the deal.

Group

The defined group for access management and reporting.

This field is mandatory.

Received Date

The date when the lender or relevant party acknowledged receipt of the deal.

Quoted Date

The date when the lender provided the initial deal quote.

Dead Reason

The reason that a deal is no longer viable for origination.

Project

This indicates that the deal is financing a construction or improvement project.

Project Type

The type of project, such as Acquisition, Renovation, Vertical construction, or as configured within Field Configurations.

This field is mandatory.

Project Name

A unique name of the project.

This field is mandatory.

Project Start Date

The start date of the project.

Project End Date

The end date of the project.






Property

To add a property, click + Add Property. For more information, see Adding property to a deal, and follow step 5.


Funding Sources

To add details to Funding sources, you must select a Group in the Deal Details section. To add a funding source, click + New Funding Source. For more information, see Creating a Funding Source and follow step 5.



Configuring Forms

Click Configure Forms to configure the deal, property, and funding source Forms. For more information, see Configuring deal forms.

  1. Click Save.

A message is displayed indicating that the deal is created successfully.
