Funding Notice Enhancements Overview

Prev Next

Purpose

A Funding Notice is the PDF a lender generates and sends to a capital provider (such as a participant, syndicate member, or agent) confirming where funds for a draw should be remitted. Funding Notice Enhancements adds a Configure Notice step that lets a draw admin control what appears on that PDF for a specific draw — which funds destination to remit to, whether to show custom branding, the draw number, whether to include a funding date, how long the download link stays valid, which contacts get notified, which draw documents to attach, free-text custom language, and an optional signature block. It also updates the Sources/Uses tables on the PDF to show only the amounts relevant to the specific recipient the notice is being sent to, instead of every funding source on the draw.

Generating, emailing, and downloading a notice works the same as before — what's new is the configuration layer and the richer PDF content.

Key Features

  1. Funds Destination selection: Choose remittance details from a list scoped to the deal, with an option to obfuscate account and routing numbers on the PDF.

  2. Branding: Adds the lead lender organization's logo (from its Business Profile) to the notice PDF. Falls back to the Built logo if no logo is configured.

  3. Funding Date: Adds a funding date field to the PDF when a date is entered.

  4. Link expiration: Sets how long the download link for the generated notice stays valid — 24 hours, 48 hours, 5 days, or 7 days (default).

  5. Emails to notify: Choose which deal/organization contacts are notified when the notice is sent.

  6. Document Attachments: Search and select existing draw documents to bundle into the notice package.

  7. Custom Language: A free-text paragraph that appears on the notice PDF.

  8. Signature Block: Adds an optional blank signature area to the bottom of the PDF.

  9. Recipient-specific Sources/Uses: The Sources/Uses tables on the PDF show only the amounts relevant to the specific recipient the notice was generated for.

Target Users

Draw admins who generate and send Funding Notices to capital providers (participants, syndicate members, or agents) on syndicated draws.

Funding Notice

The PDF confirming remittance details for a draw, sent to a capital provider/participant.

The per-draw settings (destination, branding, date, expiration, contacts, attachments, custom text, signature block) that control what's on that draw's notice.

Link expiration

How long the shareable download link to the notice PDF stays valid.

Custom Language

Free-text paragraph an admin can add to the notice PDF.

Signature Block

An optional blank signature area added to the bottom of the notice PDF.

How It Works

The Funding Notices widget appears on a draw's Overview tab and has at least one funding source with external participants (capital providers other than the lead lender) actually funding that draw. If a draw is funded from a single, non-syndicated source, or every participant on a syndicated source is the lead lender itself, the widget doesn't appear.

To configure and send a notice:

  1. Open the draw's Overview tab and locate the Funding Notices widget, which lists the draw's funding sources/recipients.

  2. Click Configure notice to open the Configure Funding Notice modal, with a live PDF preview on the left and settings on the right.

  3. Choose a Funds Destination from the list scoped to the deal, and toggle Obfuscate account and routing numbers if needed.

  4. Toggle Branding to add the lead lender's logo to the PDF.

  5. Toggle Funding Date and enter a date to add it to the PDF.

  6. Set Link expiration (24 hours, 48 hours, 5 days, or 7 days).

  7. Select Emails to notify from the deal/organization contacts.

  8. Use Document Attachments to bundle existing draw documents into the notice.

  9. Add any Custom Language to appear as a paragraph on the PDF.

  10. Toggle Signature Block to add a blank signature area to the PDF.

Settings are saved per draw. From the widget, the admin can then Generate notice for a specific recipient/funding source, Email Funding Notice to send it, or Download Funding Notice (a .zip containing the PDF).

Compared to the legacy notice PDF (header, totals, draw/deal details, remit-to block, full Sources/Uses tables showing every top-level source, and a contacts list without organization names), the enhanced PDF adds organization names next to each contact, the funding date and custom language when configured, an optional signature block, and Sources/Uses tables filtered to the specific recipient.

Note:

  • Each recipient row also has a Funding Status the admin can mark Outstanding or Funded. This tracks whether the money actually moved and is independent of the notice settings.

Benefits

  • Gives draw admins control over exactly what appears on a Funding Notice, per draw and per recipient.

  • Reduces confusion for capital providers by showing only the Sources/Uses amounts relevant to them, instead of the full draw.

  • Adds lender branding, custom language, and a signature block without leaving the draw.

  • Keeps funding status tracking (Outstanding/Funded) visible alongside notice settings.

Best Practices

  • The Funds Destination selection isn't shared automatically across draws — it must be chosen (or re-chosen) on each draw, even if it's the same destination every time. The list of destination candidates and the branding logo are the only things that carry over automatically at the deal/organization level.

  • The Funding Date field only appears on the PDF when a date is actually entered — toggling it on alone isn't enough.

FAQ

Is this automatically on for every customer, or does it need to be requested?

It will be, following the September release process.

Is the Funds Destination shared across every draw on a deal, or set per draw?

The list of destinations to choose from is scoped to the deal (tied to deal stakeholders/organizations). The actual selection is saved per draw, so it needs to be chosen (or re-chosen) on each draw, even if it's the same destination every time.

Where does the branding logo come from?

The lead lender organization's Business Profile logo. If that organization hasn't uploaded one, the notice falls back to the Built logo — there's no logo upload inside the notice settings itself.

Do borrowers ever see a Funding Notice?

No — Funding Notices aren't part of the borrower-facing experience.

Can I set defaults so I don't have to reconfigure every draw?

Not currently — settings are configured per draw. The only things that carry over automatically are the deal-level list of funds destination candidates and the organization's branding logo.

Does the Funding Notices section show up on every draw?

No. It only appears when a funding source on that draw has external participants (i.e., it's syndicated/participated) with a funded amount greater than $0, after excluding the lead lender's own share. On a draw funded from a single, non-syndicated source, the section doesn't render.
