# Self-Serve Borrower Invitations Overview

### **Purpose**

Lenders can now invite Borrowers to Deals directly within Built, without needing to submit a request to the Client Success Team. This update gives lenders more control over Deal setup and removes a step from the process of getting Borrowers connected and active on Built.

---

### **Key Features**

1. **Direct Borrower Invitation**: From the Stakeholders page on any Deal, users can add and invite a Borrower directly — no CSM request required.
2. **Portfolio Invitation Status**: The Borrower invitation status is displayed in the **Borrower** column on the Portfolio page grid, giving users visibility into pending and accepted invitations.
3. **Existing Borrower Routing**: If the Borrower already has an active user in Built, the invitation is automatically routed to that existing user for approval before access is granted.

---

### **Target Users**

Lender users who manage Deals in CLA+ and are responsible for onboarding Borrower stakeholders.

---

### **How It Works**

Before sending a Borrower invitation, confirm that a **Draw Workflow** has been selected on the **Deal Details** screen. This is a required prerequisite — the invite option will not be available without it.

To invite a Borrower to a Deal:

1. Navigate to the **Stakeholders** page on the Deal.
2. Locate the Borrower and click **Invite**.
3. The invitation is sent to one individual from the Borrower organization. If that individual needs to add additional coworkers to Built, they will need to contact Built Support for assistance.

> - If the Borrower already has an active user in Built, the invitation will be routed to that existing user for approval before access is granted.

Once the invitation is sent, the status will appear in the **Borrower** column on the **Portfolio** page grid.

---

### **Benefits**

- Lenders have direct control over Borrower onboarding without waiting for Client Success involvement.
- Invitation status is visible in the Portfolio grid for at-a-glance tracking.

---

### **Best Practices**

Confirm that a Draw Workflow is selected on the Deal Details screen before attempting to send a Borrower invitation — this is a required prerequisite.
