Built requires all customers to verify their business details in order to receive payments. This is a one-time account security measure that helps us prevent fraud, protect your business, and comply with financial regulations. The process is quick and straightforward, and once completed, you’ll be able to start receiving payments. Learn more about Built's requirements here.
How do I verify my business in Built?

- Log in to your Built account (construction.getbuilt.com)
- Click on “Settings”
- Choose “Payments”
- Click “Verify Business”
What happens if I don't verify my business details?
If you do not verify your business details you will not be able to receive payments via Built.
What information do I need to verify my business details?
- Business Type
- Legal Business Name
- Employer Identification Number (EIN)
- Business Address
An authorized business user is someone designated by your company to send and/or receive payments on its behalf.
- Legal First Name
- Legal Last Name
- Job Title
- Email Address
- Mobile Phone Number
Note: In some cases, additional information, including personal and/or business documentation, may be required.
Your business verification request will be reviewed immediately following submission. If we are unable to verify your business with the information provided, a member of Built's payments onboarding team will reach out to the authorized user who submitted the verification request with a link to submit any additional documentation needed to complete your verification. If follow-up is required, you can expect to receive that email within 2 business hours of submitting your verification request.
When your business verification request is approved, you will receive an email with instructions to set up your bank account to receive payments. Read more about linking your bank account here.
FAQ
Q: What is an authorized business user?
A: We’re able to accept identification from any authorized business user. This does not need to be a specific title or role, just someone who has the authority to represent your business and use Built’s payment services
Q: Why do you need my personal information to set up a business account?
A: To comply with federal regulations including the USA PATRIOT Act and the Bank Secrecy Act we are required to verify the identity of an authorized representative of your business through Know Your Customer (KYC) checks. These regulations are in place to ensure the security of financial transactions and prevent fraud.
