To receive payments in Built, you need to link a bank account to your account. This article walks you through how to navigate to your payment settings and add a bank account using either your bank credentials or your account and routing number.


Getting Started

Description

Bank account settings are managed from the Payments section in Built. Follow the steps below to navigate there.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Click the Settings icon from the navigation bar in the top right-hand side.

  2. Select Payments from the left-hand side navigation bar.

From the Payments screen, you have two options to link your bank account:

  • Option A — Link using your bank credentials via Plaid

  • Option B — Link using your account and routing number


Option A: Link Using Bank Credentials

Description

This option connects your bank account through Plaid using your bank login credentials. It's the fastest way to link your account if your bank is supported.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Click Use Bank Credentials.

  2. Click Continue. You will begin the process of connecting Built to your bank account through Plaid.

  3. Search for your bank. If you cannot find your bank, click the X in the top right to close the modal and use Option B instead.

  4. Select your bank and follow the prompts to log in. If you have multiple accounts at this bank, you can choose which account to use for payments in Built. (Banking institutions have varying requests to verify your identity upon logging in.)

  5. Once you have completed the steps with your bank, you will see a confirmation screen. Click Continue to return to your Built Payments settings.

  6. Your bank account will now appear on the Payments screen. To add additional accounts, click Add New Bank Account.


Option B: Link Using Account and Routing Numbers

Description

Use this option if your bank is not available through Plaid or if you prefer to enter your account details manually.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Click Use Account and Routing Numbers.

  2. Enter your Business Type and Legal Business Name.

  3. Select the account type and enter your Account Holder Name, Routing Number, and Account Number. Re-enter your Account Number to confirm.

  4. When complete, click Add Account.

  5. Your bank account is now connected. If your bank account does not appear immediately, refresh the page.


Bank Account Verification

Description

After adding a bank account, you may see a banner indicating that the account is pending approval.
